SANTA'S HELPER


This tutorial was written for those that have a working knowledge of PSP.

PSP X2 (Any version will work)

Eye Candy 4000 - Gradient Glow

I used Inspiration font

 

Open the template, 650 x 650 Canvas size and delete the credits

On the glittered oval layer, Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat, add a new layer and flood fill it with white and go to Adjust - Add Noise - apply with the settings on 35, Uniform and Monochrome checked. Apply dropshadow with the settings on V & H both on 1, Opacity 40 and Blur 4.00.

On the oval layer, select all, float, defloat and add a new layer, flood fill it with #ac2430. Select none, go to Effects - penta.com - Color Dot and use these settings shown below.

On the circle1 layer, Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat - Invert, open chocstuff paper and copy & paste as a new layer, resize it at 18% smartsize with all layers checked and hit delete. Select none and apply same dropshadow as before.

On the circle2 layer, Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat, add a new layer and flood fill it with #ac2430. Keep it selected, open the image and copy & paste as a new layer. Keep it selected, open the close up tube, copy & paste as a new layer, hit delete and select none. Go to Effects - Xero - Radiance and apply by default and lower the opacity to 65.

Grab your Preset Shape tool, with the settings on Width - 4.00, foreground on white and background on null. Draw around the circle, stretch it to your liking and convert it to raster layer. Apply with the same noise and dropshadow settings.

On the rectangle layer, Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat, add a new layer and flood fill it with #ac2430. Select none, grab your text tool, I used FFF Urban font, size 8 (6 for PSP versions 7-9), anti-alas off and type in NAUGHTY LIL SANTAS HELPER, convert it to raster layer and go to Effects - Muras Miester - Copies - Tiling on Gap 2 and apply. Back on the rectangle layer, Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat - Invert and back on the text layer and hit delete then select none.

On frame background layer, Selections - Select All, Float, Defloat & Invert, open choc-combo paper and copy & paste as a new layer, resize it at 18% smartsize with all layers checked and hit delete then select none. Apply same dropshadow to the frame.

On wordart layer, Colorize it by using Hue and Saturation with these settings of Hue 251 and Saturation 167 or to your liking.

Open the candy canes from Fantasy Moments Christmas Melodies kit and copy & paste as a new layer, resize it at 45% smartsize, apply with the same Hue and Saturation settings by using freehand tool and select it around the canes and the bow. Apply dropshadow with the same settings as before.

Open the holly from Seachell's Santa Is Coming kit and copy & paste as a new layer and resize it at 20% smartsize, duplicate and mirror, duplicate it again and move it to the top of the tag. Apply same dropshadow as before.

Open the tube, copy & paste it as a new layer and apply dropshadow with the settings on V & H both on 1, Opacity 40 and Blur 10.89.

Back on top, grab your text tool and I used Rob's Inspiration font, size 72 and apply, convert it to raster layer and apply noise with the same settings as we did earlier. Go to Effects - Eye Candy4000 - Gradient Glow and apply with the settings shown below. Apply same dropshadow as before.
